Walk with your family doctor this Monday (May 13) at Bear Creek Park (13750 88 Ave) in Surrey.
“Join your neighbours, friends and family doctor for this fun, active annual event,” event organizers say.
The free event is held annually across the province and “provides an opportunity for family doctors and their patients to connect outside the clinic and come together for community health,” reads a Surrey-North Delta Division of Family Practice media release Thursday (May 9).
Organizers encourage people to register in advance at snddocs.org. The walk will start at 5:30 p.m. and include a warm-up, a walk through the park, prizes, a hip bag, and snacks for those who register in advance.
There will be signage, staff and sign-in tables near the Bear Creek Park parking lot off 88th Ave (13750 88 Ave).
Dr. Sujatha Nilavar, board of directors co-chair of the Surrey-North Delta Division of Family Practice, said the event is fun yearly.
“As family doctors, we are deeply invested in our community’s health, and we love having this opportunity to connect with people on a lighthearted, human level,” Nilavar said.
